Thursday 18 June 2020 sees the return of popular insurance industry motorsports event Insurance Endurance. Taking place at PFI Racetrack Grantham, the UK’s largest outdoor karting circuit, the insurance industry’s networking event of the year sees leading players in the sector going head-to-head for a podium position.
Open to any company or individual working in or around the UK insurance market, the event will see teams of between four and eight drivers, competing in Sodi GT5 karts, whose 390cc engines are comfortably capable of 60mph, in a battle of speed and stamina. The impressive 1,382 metre track features long straights, twisting turns and even an elevated section and underpass.
The day will get off to a roaring start with team briefings and, most importantly, a bacon butty and brew to set you up for the day ahead. After practice laps and qualification, the four and half hour endurance race will begin at 10.30 am, with drivers rotating throughout the day before the chequered flag is waved. Teams will line-up once again for an intense one-hour sprint race for the Sprint Trophy. The day will conclude with an awards presentation complete with trophies and of course, a champagne spray!
As if that was not enough to keep you enthralled, teams will also compete in a Formula 1 pit stop challenge, changing wheels of a Formula 1 car in the quickest time possible to be crowned the Pit Stop Challenge winners. The time will then be deducted from the overall race time, recreating the pressure of a mid-race wheel change.
As well as a great day out and networking opportunity, the event will raise funds for The Insurance Charities, who help support insurance employees and their dependants in the UK and Ireland, offering over £1.7 million of help to insurance people in need last year alone.
The cost per team is £1500 excluding VAT, which includes a generous £100 donation to The Insurance Charities, as well as kart and racesuit hire and food and drink to keep racers fuelled throughout the day. Those who just want to come along, spectate and network can purchase individual day tickets for just £50.
There are also some great sponsorship opportunities available; companies can apply to be the official podium or race sponsor; or why not have your company logo on a Formula One car? Your business could be the proud sponsor of the F1 Pit Stop Challenge. More information can be found at http://www.insuranceendurance.co.uk/sponsorship
