This year’s Insurance Charities Awareness Week was a huge success. We sent out 663 display boxes and bags to 226 insurance companies across the UK and Ireland reaching over 75,000 insurance employees.
The aim of the week is to raise awareness of our charity and let people within the insurance industry know we are here to help – it’s a big undertaking but we want to make sure no one misses out on the support they may be eligible for.
During our awareness week activities took place at insurance companies across the UK and Ireland. The Insurance Institute of Leicester went above and beyond to fundraise and raise awareness on our behalf, spending a day visiting local insurance companies to tell them about The Insurance Charities. They also collected donations, held a bake sale and a raffle to fundraise for us. You can follow their day’s journey on twitter @the_ill and see highlights in the photo montage.
Among the companies supporting our awareness week, Adrian Flux nominated us for a dress down day, Ageas collected donations for us, the JLT group added us to their intranet’s home page, Cornish Mutual held a dress down day and also very generously made a donation to us. We had fantastic coverage on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook during the week, it was great seeing pictures of our display boxes and bags in insurance offices across the country.
The annual Insurance Endurance event took place during our awareness week. On a beautiful day at Kart PFI Racetrack near Grantham, 16 teams made up of karting enthusiasts from within the insurance sector raced for six hours to compete for the top place. Bankstone were victorious with the Lamp Group narrowly missing out on the top spot, finishing just under a minute behind!
As well as racing our Board member, Kirsten Watson, was at the event and over £1,000 was raised for our charity during the day. We’d like to say thank you to all the teams for their generous donations and to Insurance Endurance for inviting us to be their nominated charity.
