Callum started in insurance after graduating. The recession impacted significantly on Callum’s employer and his role was made redundant. He struggled to find alternative work and began to worry about how he would make ends meet. He had taken on a rent commitment when he was working and found that only part of his liability would be covered by benefits.
Callum was desperate to find work but could only secure a part time position which did not produce enough to finance all his commitments. His mental health started to deteriorate. The Insurance Charities committed to supplement Callum’s earnings for a defined period of time giving him the chance to secure alternative work and get back on track. We also introduced him to another charity which can help him manage his stress and depression. Callum feels much better placed to deal with life’s challenges moving forward and is grateful that the industry he chose for his career has been able to support him.
