Adrienne O’Sullivan, Trustee, Director and Immediate Past President of The Insurance Charities spoke to Paul from The Irish Broker about what the future holds for The Insurance Charities and the impact we have had in Ireland.
Over the last five years we have awarded funds of nearly €600,000 to Irish insurance employees and their families. 59% of this money has gone towards helping with hardships. Since April this year we have allocated over €70,000. As well as helping with hardship we’ve helped with education costs, health, home repairs/adaptations and debt repayments.
“Our biggest challenge is awareness. We have the resources to help but people need to know we are here in order to access this help. We’re worried some people may think they aren’t eligible or don’t even know we exist, we want the insurance industry to tell it’s employees that there is a dedicated charity out there to support them and help them when they need that help and support.”
We would like to thank the Irish Broker for their fantastic support and for continuing to help us raise awareness about the help we can offer past and present insurance employees and their families.
