The Paul Golmick Fund

The Paul Golmick Fund is a Trust, separate from The Insurance Charities, set up to promote the maintenance and education of children and young people under the age of 24, but primarily under the age of 18, who reside in the UK or Republic of Ireland and who have at least one parent or guardian with service to the insurance industry.

Applications are considered via the Grants sub-committee of The Insurance Charities and payments considered in the form of scholarships, exhibitions, bursaries and maintenance allowances.

One example of help given is the case of Jacob Baker - a young musician who had been offered a place at the Guildhall School of Music to further his talents in piano and violin. His family approached the Fund to see if help could be given to enable Jacob to take up the place he had been offered but which the family could not easily finance. Members agreed that support would be appropriate and Jacob has, for the past two years, benefited from the expert tuition at the School.
