There are many ways in which individuals
can help The Insurance Charities.
Unfortunately, many
potential beneficiaries remain unaware that they could
benefit from help. You may know of people who need
help and, providing they have spent at least five years
either working as an insurance official or have been
employed by an insurance company or intermediary, in
whatever capacity, they are eligible to apply. If you
know anyone who may qualify please pass on to them our
contact details. You could be the means of helping them
secure much needed financial assistance in any one of
the following situations
- Short-term health problems
- Unemployment or redundancy
- Permanent Disability
- Low income in retirement
- Multiple debt situations
- Limited income during first
degree studies
Financial support
As well as encouraging people to apply to us you
may wish to help support our work. You can become
an annual member of The Insurance Charities
with a minimum subscription of £15 by downloading,
completing and returning the Membership Application
Form. Payments made, where appropriate, by tax efficient
means are of increased value to the Charity. In addition
to supporting the Charity's work now, you may wish to
leave us a legacy in your Will. Please contact us
at the above address for further details.
Your local insurance institute
If you are a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute
you may be aware of fund raising activities which
are undertaken on our behalf. Your support for these
events is vital if we are to continue to have adequate
funds available to assist less fortunate insurance
colleagues in need. This is clearly shown on the
financial information section of this site.
Your employer
It is possible that only a small proportion of those
working in insurance know of the work of The Insurance
Charities. If you are able to encourage your employer
to allow our publicity material to be distributed
amongst your colleagues it will ensure that those
in need of our help know where to find us. If you
have a staff or pensioner magazine which would be
happy to print a short article about our work, we
would be pleased to supply the appropriate information.
